Guests at New York's Gansevoort Hotels will soon be able to enjoy the city from the back of a Porsche, thanks to an agreement between the hotel and the luxury car maker.
Both of Gansevoort's New York properties - The Gansevoort Hotel and The Gansevoort Park Avenue South - are to offer free in-town car service and airport transfers in a fleet of Porsche vehicles.
From August 15, hotel guests will be whisked around the city in the 2011 Porsche Panamera 4S, a luxury sports sedan that Porsche describes as a "roomy sports car for four."
Porsche's US president Detlev Von Platen said that the partnership would "transform the perception of city driving for Gansevoort Hotel Group guests."
For luxury hotel guests, arriving by taxi simply isn't enough.
In 2006, the landmark Peninsula Hong Kong hotel placed the largest-ever order in luxury automaker Rolls-Royce's history, ordering a fleet of 14 Phantoms to transport guests.
Singapore's Raffles hotel signed a partnership with Bentley the same year which resulted in a personalized Continental Flying Spur to ferry the hotel's VIPs, and the following year the new Singapore St Regis followed the lead, ordering a fleet of Bentleys for guests.
Starwood-owned W Hotels, however, has a partnership with Honda to deliver guests to their destination in Acura SUVs, complete with music selected by the hotel.
