Leicester City will look to inject some life back into a season which is threatening to unravel when they return to Champions League action against Sevilla on Wednesday night.

Claudio Ranieri's side may be dicing with relegation from the Premier League, but Europe has been a much happier hunting ground for them this season.

Their opponents from Andalucia are a formidable side, however, and are currently Real Madrid's nearest challengers for the La Liga title.

It’s a big game for…

Claudio Ranieri. With Leicester’s domestic campaign crumbling before the Italian’s eyes, the Champions League offers the Foxes with some much-needed respite. Ranieri’s men head into Wednesday’s match without a league win in 2017 and just one point separating them from the relation zone. Leicester are running out of ideas but a defiant run in Europe could be what the Foxes need to kick-start their floundering league form and save their manager from the chop.

Best stat…

The Foxes have yet to score a league goal in 2017. Their 1-0 defeat by Millwall at the weekend was the seventh time in 10 competitive games that Leicester have failed to find the back of the net.

Player to watch…

Steven N’Zonzi. Since joining Sevilla from Stoke, the Frenchman has enjoyed a startling revival in form. As a defensive midielder, N’Zonzi has established himself at the heart of Jorge Sampaoli’s team, halting opposition attacks, breaking up play and distributing the ball intelligently. Construction, not destruction, is the nature of his game. As a player dubbed the “octopus”, for his long, tentacle-like legs, N’Zonzi could be key to keeping Foxes' counter-attacking style at bay.

Claudio Ranieri has been speaking to the club website and has promised supporters that his team will play "positively":

Uh oh...

BT Sport are reporting that Leicester's talented 20-year-old Demarai Gray is "unhappy" after being left out of the starting line-up. He's supposedly sulking in the dugout having been informed by Ranieri that he's starting on the bench.

Especially concerning for Leicester supporters given this recent news...

Jamie Vardy is looking relaxed ahead of the match...

Leicester will desperately hope that their forward can make an impression against Sevilla tonight. He's yet to score in the Champions League this season, despite playing in 5 of the club's 6 group games.

Mind you, this doesn't make for encouraging reading...

Claudio Ranieri has just been interviewed on BT Sport;

When you play in the Champions League it is a little easier because the players are very focused. It will be tough because Sevilla are a very good sign and fighting for La Liga title, but we are okay. We are strong and we want to enjoy our football.

Always I am positive and I believe that now is the time we can fight back.

Sevilla are dangerous because they have built things up very slowly, but now they are one of the best clubs in La Liga.

I'd like to score a goal tonight. It's important when you play away that you score a goal. And ideally I don't want to concede any goals.

Sevilla have a few names in their starting line-ups that Premier League fans will be familiar with.

In their midfield, former Arsenal man Samir Nasri stars — currently on loan from Manchester City. Former Blackburn and Stoke player Steven N'Zonzi starts alongside him, with the former Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetić tasked with leading the line.

1 min: And we're away! Sevilla instantly move the ball around their defence, but an optimistic long punt forward is confidently headed clear by Morgan.

3 mins: Leicester haven't had much of a sniff so far. Sevilla happy to keep passing it around the back, comfortable in possession.
