FA Cup match preview: Arsenal v Manchester United

Alexis Sanchez scored on his return to the Emirates Stadium as Manchester United saw off Arsenal to reach the fifth round of the FA Cup and extend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's winning start.

The two most successful sides in the competition's history played out an entertaining Friday night game as United secured a 3-1 win an an eighth straight victory for interim manger Solskjaer.

Sanchez and Jesse Lingard had set the visitors on course for victory before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled a goal back for the Gunners, only for substitute Anthony Martial to wrap up a comfortable win with a late strike.

4 minutes: Arsenal 0-0 Man Utd

Manchester United are set up in a diamond formation, just as they were in their win against Spurs.

Jesse Lingard is positioned behind Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal have started the brighter of the two sides. This time it's Iwobi who drives down the left flank. He pulls the ball back towards Lacazette but his heavy touch lets him down inside the box.

Paul Pogba receives the ball in space for the first time, but his forward pass towards Sanchez is cut out.

Moments later, Kolasinac is involved again for Arsenal on the left flank. His cut back towards Aubameyang is eventually cleared.

Boos are ringing around the Emirates every time Alexis Sanchez receives the ball tonight. No real surprise there.

I wonder whether United set up in a diamond formation expecting Arsenal to do the same. They played a diamond in their last match against Chelsea, after all.

The Gunners are causing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side a few problems in the wide areas at present.

Chance for United. Maitland-Niles is caught in possession by Pogba, who plays a one-two with Sanchez inside the box. Cech comes out to thwart the Frenchman's attempts to cut the ball back. Better from the away side.

Pogba is really starting to get into the game now. This time he surges forward from midfield and goes down on the edge of the box. The referee waves play on.

That will have pleased Unai Emery. Lacazette tracks back to win the ball twice for Arsenal before Lucas Torreira jumps in with an equally impressive challenge.

The movement of Aaron Ramsey is causing United some problems off the ball. Solskjaer will want his side to sharpen up a bit here.

This is not good news for Arsenal. Sokratis is down injured after an awkward landing. Shkodran Mustafi has been asked to warm up.
