USA vs England LIVE result: Phil Neville's side out of Women's World Cup semi-final following semi-final defeat
Reaction after England took on the USA for a place in the Women's World Cup final
England women are out of the Women's World Cup after an agonising semi-final defeat to the USA
Steph Houghton had an 84th-minute penalty saved as the Lionesses missed out on a place in the final, losing 2-1 to the United States in Lyon. Phil Neville's side headed into the last four with dreams of becoming the first senior England team - male or female - to contest a World Cup final since 1966. However, a third penalty miss of the tournament ultimately proved costly after a rollercoaster match.
Here's how it played out:

Lucy Bronze: "We have more hunger!"
"We have more hunger than the other teams because we have never reached a final," said England right-back Lucy Bronze.
"You look at the four teams left and we're the only team that hasn't reached a final. The Olympics, the World Cup, the Euros, these other three teams have all reached finals in recent years.
"It definitely takes more to reach a final - but who better to know that it takes more than a team that has been knocked out of two consecutive semi-finals?"
They've arrived
The Lionesses have arrived at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon and they come with the go well wishes of one Jamie Vardy.
I'd like to see the party he'll be having if England can pull it off tonight.
Goals, goals and more goals
USA already have scored double the amount of goals that England have in this tournament. The World Cup holders have scored 22, only three goals short of the Women's World Cup record.
Despite the difference England have scored 11 goals, which is their highest tally ever in a World Cup.
Is it coming home?
15 minutes until kick off, can the Lionesses do it? I think they can.
What an atmosphere!
The atmosphere in Lyon is awesome. The American fans have come out in droves, dressed in all manner of fancy dress. Superheroes, Uncle Sams and even Elvis can all be seen around the ground.
The teams come out onto the pitch to a thunderous roar. Who's got the mental strength to see this through.
'God save the Queen' is played and the Lionesses sing the anthem with gusto. We're ready.
England 0 - 0 USA
Kick off: England get the match underway. It's a big one, Houghton hits the ball long looking for Jill Scott.
The USA get the ball into England's box but Bronze and Daly combine to get it away.

3 mins: A long ball forward from the USA forces Demi Stokes into a footrace with Heath. Stokes wins but gives away a corner. The ball comes in for the US but England scramble to get it clear.
It's not far enough though and Lavelle takes the ball off Bright. She brings it into the box from the right and fires a shot off but Telford makes a sharp save.
England 0 - 0 USA
6 mins: Jill Scott gives away a free kick about 30-yards from goal. It's chipped over the English defenders and Alex Morgan has a free header on goal. He jumps but doesn't reach the ball and it goes out.
England 0 - 0 USA
9 mins: It's been a prolific five minutes for the USA. They've torn England's defence apart and the Lionesses lost all their shape and looked panicked.
They look more comfortable on the ball though. Rachel Daly is allowed to cross the ball into the box but Dunn heads it clear for the USA.
England 0 - 1 USA - Press
10 mins: GOAL! A perfect ball splits the English defence and comes out to O'Hara on the right wing. She delivers a cross to the far post and Lucy Bronze has left Christen Press who wins the header and puts the ball past Telford for the opener.
