A heroic Crystal Palace performance downed Manchester City to claim the FA Cup and a first major trophy at Wembley Stadium.

Ebere Eze's first-half goal and Dean Henderson's penalty save proved vital moments for Oliver Glasner's side in a day of destiny for the Eagles.

Pep Guardiola will feel aggrieved after Henderson remained on the pitch, despite a VAR check, with the Eagles goalkeeper touching the ball outside the box and appearing to deny the Norwegian a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Daniel Munoz thought he had doubled Palace's lead in the second half, but Ismaila Sarr was offside after a VAR check.

And Guardiola could only throw on Phil Foden and a debut for Argentine youngster Claudio Echeverri, who was denied by Henderson late on.

Palace survived and held on for the greatest moment in their history.

89 mins: You can really feel the tension now from the Palace fans, as tick into the final minutes. That's natural, but not necessarily a consequence of play. City, other than De Bruyne, really aren't creating much.

Good work from Eze to intercept Foden’s pass and get Palace up the pitch. With his performance, it’s difficult to choose a MOTM between him, Henderson and Richards!

Another City sub as Ilkay Gundogan comes on for Bernardo Silva.

Better from Palace in midfield now, with Sarr seeing a cross cleared before Wharton wins it back straight away.

It’s spread wide to Lerma and he ships it to Munoz, whose cross is palmed away by Ortega.

Wharton now makes way for Will Hughes.

A couple of yellow cards for City as Dias is booked for dissent and Akanji is booked for a late challenge. Palace had the advantage but Eze couldn't find Sarr with the ball over the top on the counter.

And now De Bruyne is carded after a foul too.

Just under 80 per cent possession for City so far, which is remarkably high even for them.

They win it back in their half and launch a counter, with Haaland leading and passing it on to Foden.

They recycle it and Foden lays it off to De Bruyne, who shapes up for the shot but plays a lovely pass to Echeverri. However, the Argentine can only direct his shot at Henderson, and he can’t get a clean connection on the follow-up!

City have not stopped dominating possession all game and it’s continuing as we enter the final 10 minutes of normal time.

They win a corner after De Bruyne’s cross is deflected behind.

78 mins: Guardiola finally makes those changes and while Phil Foden's introduction was to be expected, Echeverri's was not. This is his debut. It is classic Guardiola by doing something you just wouldn't have thought of.

And a sub for Palace now as Eddie Nketiah comes on for Mateta.

Arguably a strange choice at this time. What if we go to extra-time!?

Subs for City as Marmoush and Savinho come off for Phil Foden and Claudio Echeverri, who makes his City debut at the age of 19.

CHANCE! What an opportunity for O’Reilly.

De Bruyne picks it up on the edge of the box and threads the perfect pass through to O’Reilly, who takes it well but tries to move it onto his favoured left foot, giving Munoz time to make a vital block.
