A heroic Crystal Palace performance downed Manchester City to claim the FA Cup and a first major trophy at Wembley Stadium.

Ebere Eze's first-half goal and Dean Henderson's penalty save proved vital moments for Oliver Glasner's side in a day of destiny for the Eagles.

Pep Guardiola will feel aggrieved after Henderson remained on the pitch, despite a VAR check, with the Eagles goalkeeper touching the ball outside the box and appearing to deny the Norwegian a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Daniel Munoz thought he had doubled Palace's lead in the second half, but Ismaila Sarr was offside after a VAR check.

And Guardiola could only throw on Phil Foden and a debut for Argentine youngster Claudio Echeverri, who was denied by Henderson late on.

Palace survived and held on for the greatest moment in their history.

HALF-TIME! Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City

An intriguing half at Wembley, with plenty to dissect at the break.

A great start from City, and in truth a solid half bar the goal they conceded. They should maybe have created a few more clear-cut chances, but it was good overall.

Palace have also been great, scoring a brilliant goal while also defending resolutely.

And there was controversy too, with that handball from Henderson likely to provoke plenty of discussion. It looks worse on second look.

And of course, the ‘keeper then stayed on to save the penalty!

Stuart Atwell brings the first half to an end at Wembley.

For all their domination, City trail 1-0 at the break in a brilliant half of football.

Still City put forward, looking for a timely equaliser...

Akanji swings the ball in for the final action of the half but Lacroix manages to clear.

Not that they want it, but a reminder to Palace fans that they were 2-0 up at the Etihad last month before losing 5-2. You’d think Glasner has learned from that episode though, with Palace looking good still despite the pressure.

There’ll be three minutes of time added on here. Palace fans are in fine voice.

Mateta stays down after being shoved by Akanji, but it’s just a time wasting tactic at this point.

SAVE! It’s another good stop.

Doku stands up his defender and curls an effort around Richards, but Henderson is equal to it and parries it high, before some great defending from Guehi as he heads it away under pressure.

Henderson is on course for MOTM here!

Mateta continues to offer so much for Palace up top, almost creating a great chance on his own before Eze fails to squeeze the pass through to Munoz.

A great performance from that trio so far.
