Liverpool return to the King Power Stadium just four days after losing 2-0 to Leicester in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Defensive shortcomings and a failure to take chances once undermined Liverpool’s efforts that night so Jurgen Klopp will be hopeful that his side have learned their lessons come Saturday evening.

Jamie Vardy is expected to return for Leicester after missing his side’s victory over the Reds with a groin Strain. For the visitors, Dejan Lovren remains a doubt due back problems while Joel Matip and Emre Can are being assessed after sustaining knocks last week.

What time does it start?

The game kicks off at 5.30pm on Saturday 23 September at the King Power Stadium.

Where can I watch it?

The game will be broadcast on BT Sport 1 with coverage starting at 5pm.

It’s a big game for?

Jurgen Klopp. Another disappointing result would really set the alarm bells ringing at Anfield. Liverpool have not won in their last four games as question marks continue to persist over the state of the side’s backline. Klopp needs his men to put in a convincing and assertive performance against the Foxes on Saturday otherwise the Reds could find themselves a potential eight points off the pace.

Player to watch?

Jamie Vardy. The Englishman memorably scored that goal against Liverpool during a 2-0 victory that helped the Foxes along the way in their title-winning season last year. Vardy is set to return on Saturday after suffering a groin strain and will be hoping to hit the ground running. Against a defensively fragile side such as Liverpool, Vardy should be in his element.

83 mins: Liverpool are defending well as Leicester continue to circle their prey but are still unable to work Simon Mignolet since his penalty save.

87 mins: There's a problem here for James Milner who is down injured. Liverpool have made all of their changes but it looks like he might be able to continue.

Jurgen Klopp looks delighted. Perhaps not with his side's defending - again, but because his team showed a lot of grit to withstand a late barrage of attacks.
