The Welsh anthem rings out around the Stadio Olimpico with a healthy number of fans wearing bright read ensuring the players can hear their presence. It's nothing though to the simply brilliant Italian national anthem, and with the end of that, we're finally ready to get underway!

mins: ITALY KICK-OFF AND THE MATCH IS UNDERWAY!

mins: After both teams choose to kick away possession without finding touch, Jonathan Davies make a nice half-break on the left to take Wales up towards halfway. Biggar kicks again, and this time Canna is penalised for running in front of one of the chasers. The penalty is well within Halfpenny's range, and he's going to take an early shot at goal from about 46m.

mins: It's no good. Halfpenny starts it off to the right and it stays out there, giving Italy a 22m dropout.

mins: Biggar gives North something to chase, and he and Venditti collide as the both try to catch it on the full. North looks hurt, and he's limping away from the challenge. It looks to be a knee to the thigh of North, and he's having a bit of treatment before trying to run it off. North had knocked it forwards, so we'll have our first scrum and we'll see if anyone has an advantage here.

mins: The Wales skipper is off! Alun Wyn Jones disappears down the steps that lead to the changing rooms, though it's only a blood replacement. Cory Hill of the Dragons comes on, and it's a very strong Italian scrum that gets a shove on and wins the penalty.

mins: Into the Welsh 22 go Italy, though the red wall is holding firm. Gori then takes his eye of the ball and it's knocked forwards, giving Wales the scrum put-in.

mins: Another penalty at the scrum, though this time it's in Wales's favour as Cittadini is pinged for collapsing. Biggar clears to touch.

mins: Strong running from Tipuric and Moriarty breaks the line, and Biggar smartly chips in behind and finds touch deep in the Italian 22. It's a messy one, but just about comes back on the Italian side and McLean clears the danger.
