Jack Draper saw his quest for a first Grand Slam come to an end as he was stunned by Alexander Bublik 7-5 3-6 2-6 4-6 to crash out of the French Open.

Cameron Norrie’s clash with Novak Djokovic ended in disappointment on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Having never before beaten the World No. 6 Norrie always faced an uphill battle and so it proved as Djokovic flew through three sets for a 6-2 6-3 6-2 victory.

Earlier, Ekaterina Alexandrova was defeated in straight set by American Coco Gauff who looks to be in impressive form and native French woman Lois Boisson shocked the women’s No. 3 seed Jessica Pegula in a three set thriller.

The evening session is headlined by men’s No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner who has yet to drop a set in this campaign having swept Arthur Rinderknech, Richard Gasquet, and Jiri Lehecka aside with relative ease. Tonight’s opponent is Andrey Rublev who should pose more of a threat.

Lois Boisson 3-6 6-4 2-2 Jessica Pegula*

Unreal from Pegula.

Just when it seemed as though she was losing her mojo, she gets a hold of serve under her belt then breaks Boisson!

That draws her level in the set once again and the momeuntum that the French woman had built up has been broken.

Draper on friendship with Sinner

Jack Draper says he is proud of his friendship with Jannik Sinner but knows he is getting close to challenging him on court.

“I’m very happy to have him as a friend, but he’s now there, things are a little bit different,” Draper said.

“Of course, you know, we are very good friends off the court, but we practice a little bit less together, because we might know that we can face each other in the later stages of tournaments hopefully, because I always love to play against him.”

Lois Boisson 3-6 6-4 2-0 Jessica Pegula*

Boisson has been peppering the Pegula forehand which has seemingly abandoned the American at present.

It helps the French woman secure an break of serve in the first game of the third set and puts her on course for a famous win.

Boisson completes here break as well! What a result this would be if she can get over the line.

Jack Draper and Jannik Sinner ‘practice less together’ ahead of potential French Open clash

Jack Draper’s friendship with Jannik Sinner is on the backburner with the pair on a collision course to meet in the quarter-finals of the French Open.

British number one Draper breezed into the fourth round with a commanding 6-2 6-4 6-2 win over Brazilian teenager Joao Fonseca.

The 23-year-old will play world number 62 Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan on Monday for a place in the last eight, where world number one Sinner is likely to be waiting.

*Lois Boisson 3-6 6-4 Jessica Pegula

The partisan French crowd are very much behind their player in this set now.

Lois Boisson has surprised throughout this tournament and is on the verge of forcing a third set decider against the World No. 3.

She wins the first point of the game as Pegula puts a return too long. Then she weathers a slight attack before going on the offensive and driving a forehand winner past the American.

A long backhand from Pegula puts Boisson on the brink and she wins the set with a hold to love!

Game on.

*Lois Boisson 3-6 5-4 Jessica Pegula - BREAK!

The momentum may be swinging towards Lois Boisson.

She battles her way to deuce and takes advantage of a wild Pegula return to move within a point of a break.

An attempted backhand slice from Boisson sees the opportunity slip by.

Wow! An error from Pegula hands another opportunity to Boisson who takes it with aplomb.

A powerful strike secures her a break of serve and now she’s one game away from making this match a level playing field.

Lois Boisson 3-6 4-4 Jessica Pegula*

Boisson responds with a sublime service game to 15 and draws level in the set again.

Pegula needs to make her move now if she hopes to secure a straight set victory.

Hold of serve then break.

Boisson certainly has the crowd on their feet.

Her impressively strong backhand has Pegula on the back foot but it’s the speed at which she’s coming through with the forehand that is winning her points.

She sets up a break point with the set in the balance at 3-3 but Pegula unloads a forehand across court to move to deuce.

From there a dinky drop shot from Pegula puts her to advantage before Boisson responds to pull the match back to deuce.

Pegula is made to work for this one. The game is almost 10 minutes long but the American takes it with another fine drop shot!

Jack Draper’s ‘UFC’ regiment that has Alexander Bublik at a loss on how to beat him

Alexander Bublik doesn’t know how he will be able to overcome Jack Draper after admitting intimidation at the British No 1’s fighter-like training regiment.

Draper has put the tennis world on notice across the past 12 months and will soon go to fourth in the world rankings, having surged up the charts from 40th this time last year.

He claimed his first ATP Masters title at Indian Wells earlier this year and has continued in fine stead at the French Open, taking Roland Garros by storm.

Norrie and Djokovic warming up

Lois Boisson has broken Jessica Pegula in the second set and now leads by three games to two.

If she can hold serve for the rest of the set she’ll force a decider.

Meanwhile, Cameron Norrie and Novak Djokovic have arrived at Roland Garros and are going through a few pre-match warm-ups.

They’ll be on court following the conclusion of this game.
