2021 Wimbledon Day 12 Recap: Ash Barty Claims Her Second Grand Slam Title

Follow live reaction after Novak Djokovic beat Italian Matteo Berrettini to win his sixth title at Wimbledon on Sunday.

The win - 6-7(4) 6-4 6-4 6-3 - also earned the Serbian world number one a 20th Grand Slam title, equalling the men's record held by Switzerland's Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal of Spain.

The Italian took a thrilling first set on a tie break only for the top seed to roar back to level it in the second and eventually take the title, a third in a row at the All England Club.

WIMBLEDON 2021: DJOKOVIC 4-3 BERRETTINI

Djokovic breaks in the fourth set! A sensational forehand winner at 30-30 brings up break point and Berrettini buckles under the pressure with an unforgivable double fault. The defending champion is just two games away from the title.

WIMBLEDON 2021: DJOKOVIC 3-3 BERRETTINI

Djokovic is under pressure at 0-30 on serve and is irked as the crowd get behind Berrettini. But a fine serve is followed by a stunning rally, where Djokovic somehow manages to keep the ball alive, stretches to reach a drop shot and then flicks a return past Berrettini and onto the line. He roars at the crowd. That was stunning tennis and he closes out the hold.

WIMBLEDON 2021: DJOKOVIC 1-2 BERRETTINI

Berrettini was able to put Djokovic under pressure on serve but two sloppy errors ensured the Serbian of the hold. The defending champion then uncorks a terrific forehand to go 0-15 on Berrettini’s serve but two huge serves and an ace ward off any danger. We remain on serve in the fourth.

WIMBLEDON 2021: DJOKOVIC 4-2 BERRETTINI

A bludgeoning rally at 15-30 sees Djokovic somehow stretch to return Berrettini’s forehands but eventually the defending champion’s resistance is broken. Facing two break points, the crowd erupt for Berrettini much to Djokovic’s grievance. Clearly irked, he saves both and then gestures towards the crowd. Another ace secures the hold, he stares again at those supporting Berrettini, and now they chant Djokovic’s name.
