UFC results: Max Holloway ends Arnold Allen’s long win streak
Re-live updates from the featherweight main event in Missouri, where Holloway was a decision winner
Max Holloway halted Arnold Allen’s 12-fight win streak on Saturday, outpointing the Briton in the pair’s UFC Fight Night main event.
Former featherweight champion Holloway bounced back from his third loss to Alexander Volkanovski by beating Allen in Kansas City, where he was a unanimous-decision winner.
Meanwhile, Allen came up short as he looked to set up a title shot against reigning champion Volkanovski, landing numerous heavy strikes but failing to put down Hawaiian Holloway.
In fact, it was Allen who dropped to a knee in the frenzied final seconds of the fight, which Holloway won 49-46, 49-46, 48-47 on the scorecards.

A bit of controversy here: Rodriguez shouts, “I didn’t tap,” at referee Keith Peterson, who suggests that he separated the pair because she screamed.
Officially, this is going down as a verbal tap.

Robertson vs Rodriguez – Round 2
Immediately Robertson ducks under Rodriguez’s jab and lands a single-leg takedown, which takes her straight into half-guard.
Robertson circles into north-south position, then moves back into half-guard after landing an elbow during the transition.
Robertson advances into mount and fires off more elbows. She flits between positions again, but she’s fully in control either way.
Rodriguez’s face is dripping with blood on one side now, surely a result of the numerous elbows she’s received. Robertson keeps forcing Rodriguez to turn away with the elbows, but the Canadian then opts for side control instead of letting Rodriguez turn fully and expose the back; a questionable choice.
It doesn’t matter, however, as Robertson is able to swivel into an armbar from side control, and she forces the tap!

Robertson presses forward with low kicks and body kicks early on. Rodriguez responds with a decent counter left hook.
Twice Robertson feints takedowns to set up flurries of punches. Again the left hook is there for Rodriguez.
Rodriguez with a takedown and she’s straight into full guard. She opts to stand after struggling to progress in the position, and Robertson secures a trip immediately.
The Canadian moves into side control, and then half-guard. Both women land decent strikes, and the round ends with Robertson raining down a few slashing elbows.

Vannata survives a brutal period, in which he’s knocked down and on the wrong end of some nasty ground and pound from Zellhuber.
Vannata does just enough to keep moving and allow the referee to let the action continue.
