THE LOOK AND FEEL

The hotel is one of the oldest in London, having opened in 1851. A recent refurbishment by interior designer Tully Filmer dismisses Victoriana in favour of a 1930s Art Deco style. The dining space in Ormer is lined with aged oak wood panelling, which meets monochrome marble floors, while forest green velvet banquettes threaded with gold are interspersed with British racing green distressed leather chairs. Manetta's bar has a dark and sultry colour palette of black upholstery with polished rose gold detailing, while pops of red in tactile materials such as soft velvet or supple leather add to the opulent look.

THE FACILITIES

The cheerful and polite staff bid you good morning or good evening and go out of their way to ensure your stay is comfortable without being overbearing. There's a small fitness centre and the Pietro Simone skincare clinic, which offers more than 35 science-led skincare treatments, using shockwaves, radio frequency and state-of-the-art lymphatic drainage stimulation to address issues ranging from hyperpigmentation to unwanted body fat.
