OUR REVIEW

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

The hotel is on a quite busy road just by Hampton Court, in Richmond-upon-Thames borough in southwest London. It's a great location, with lots to do nearby. Unsurprisingly, Hampton Court Palace and its beautiful grounds top the must-see list. Kingston is the nearest town and has a huge array of shops, cafes and eateries. Bushy Park is just over the road, and the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew is easy to get to.

By car: the hotel is 4 hours from Manchester and 2 hours from Bristol. Free parking available.

By train: Hampton Court station is ten minutes' walk away. Book trains to Hampton Court station.

With just 14 bedrooms, The Kings Arms feels homely. Yet its elegant lounge, dining and reception areas give it a smartness too. Spotless throughout and efficiently run, it offers a high degree of comfort. There has clearly been a lot of care put into the tasty menu, and the hotel offers several attractive areas to have a drink.

FOOD AND DRINK

The restaurant, The Six - named in deference to Hampton Court ex-resident Henry VIII's wives - serves fabulous imaginative British cuisine. There's also a private dining room available, and on warmer days the al fresco terrace is a tempting option. Enjoy a drink in the attractive cocktail bar area.
