OUR REVIEW

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

A ten-minute stroll through Hyde Park will get you to the Serpentine lake with its rowing boats and swans. The smart shops and galleries of Mayfair are just behind the hotel to the east, while busy Oxford Street and Piccadilly Circus are both about 15 minutes away on foot.

By car: the hotel is 4 hours from Manchester, and less than 2.5 hours from Bristol. Parking costs £42 per day.

By train: it's a ten minute walk to Marble Arch and Hyde Park Corner tube stations. thetrainline.com

THE LOOK AND FEEL

The boxy Art Deco lines of the reception rooms are softened by artistic Murano glass light fittings and butterflies in cloches among the period decorative items. The Park Room is resplendent with Emerald green buttoned velvet sofas and large floral arrangements.

THE FACILITIES

There's exceptional service in the JW Steakhouse from serving staff who can make excellent wine recommendations and really know the menu; although it's more patchy at breakfast.
