Situated in pretty gardens overlooking the peaceful, sweeping Pissouri Bay, you're halfway between Paphos and Limassol. It's a short drive down a winding road from the picturesque white-washed village of Pissouri. It is advisable to hire a car, although a shuttle runs between the resort and the village. Nearby, you'll find the ancient archaeological site and amphitheatre of Kourion and Petra tou Romiou, said to be the birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite.

By plane: flights to Paphos from London take 4 hours 30 mins; flights from Manchester take 4 hours 45 mins. The hotel is a 30-minute drive from the airport. Free on-site parking. Book flights to Paphos.

The use of honey-coloured local stone, terracotta tiles and natural wood on buildings clustered around a typical courtyard feels like you are staying in a Cypriot village. The suites are luxurious, the spa is opulent and a huge infinity pool and water sports at the beach will keep everyone amused.

Service is excellent and a glass of bubbly at check-in is a nice touch. A lagoon-style outdoor pool is a striking centre-piece and the elegant Hébe spa is an oasis of tranquillity. There's a sauna, whirlpool, steam rooms, gym, squash and tennis courts, chapel and children's play areas.
