Hotel Review
Hotel Review: Clayton Hotel, Dublin
A classic four-star hotel set in a beautiful Victorian building dating from 1880, which used to be a school. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed, with interconnecting rooms for families. Luxurious executive rooms have air conditioning, Nespresso machines and extensive TV channels. The bar and lounge has an all-day menu, and there is also a small gym and a barbers.

THE LOOK AND FEEL
This is a stunning red-brick building which was built in 1880 as a Masonic girls school - the exterior is striking, and while the interior has some original features such as windows, it is mostly modern. The building has been extended over the years with a mix of design styles and a central glass-covered atrium leading to the bar and restaurant area.
THE FACILITIES
The hotel has plenty of rooms and many are interconnecting so will suit families. There is a large underground car park and the hotel has pleasant front grounds. There is also a small gym with a good selection of weights, a barbers and all the usual hotel services like room service and laundry.

Food & Drink
We loved the casual vibe, space and comfortable seating in the bar area, and the outdoor tables in summer. The slow-cooked crispy lamb shank with roasted peppers, fondant potato, green vegetables and lamb mint jus was delicious.
Grandstand: restaurant and bar, locally sourced produce. Dishes include duo of lamb, pork belly and chicken supreme. All-day dining, open daily.
Red Bean Roastery: coffee shop, serving pastries, soups and salads. Open Mon-Fri, 7am-3pm and Sat, 8am-3pm.
