As cruise lines announce UK sailings for vaccinated Britons this summer, Disney Cruise Line has unveiled its voyages for summer 2022 to destinations including the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and Alaska.

The summer sailings, which will launch in May, will take in Mediterranean cities, including Athens, Dubrovnik and Barcelona, plus various Greek islands.

Further voyages will explore the Baltic cities of Latvia and Tallinn, Russia, Iceland, the UK and the Norwegian fjords.

Sailings are also planned around Alaska on the ship Disney Wonder, and, for the first time, there will be cruises out of Miami via Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, in the Bahamas.

There are also cruises around the Caribbean, taking in destinations such as Dominica, Grand Cayman and Jamaica, as well as Cozumel in Mexico.

The cruise line’s newest ship, Disney Wish, which will be powered by liquified natural gas, is also scheduled to sail her maiden voyage next summer.

“While we prepare for a return to sea just as soon as the time is right, we continue to look to the future and develop more cruising options for families,” said Thomas Mazloum, president of Disney Cruise Line.

“Offering this diverse new line-up of itineraries for the summer of 2022 shows our commitment to taking more guests to more destinations around the world as we plan for additional ships in the years ahead.”

It comes as UK cruise lines announce a raft of domestic itineraries for British tourists – who must be vaccinated to travel.

This week, P&O Cruises said it would sail “voyages to nowhere” out of Southampton from June, and all guests must have received both Covid-19 jabs to travel.

Separately, Disney this week said it would open its two Californian theme parks from next month, for state visitors only.
