Zoë Kravitz: High Fidelity star condemns Hulu for lack of diversity after her show is axed

Actor mocked streaming service for lack of women of colour in its series

Zoë Kravitz has criticised Hulu for the lack of diversity in its shows, just one day after her series High Fidelity was axed by the streaming service.

The actor had posted about the cancellation on her Instagram page, writing: “I wanna give a shout out to my #highfidelity family. Thank you for all the love and heart you put into this show. I’m in awe of all of you.

"And thank you to everyone who watched, loved and supported us. #breakupssuck.”

After several stars, including Tessa Thompson, Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry and Questlove, took to the comments section to offer their condolences, Kravitz replied: “It’s cool. At least Hulu has a ton of other shows starring women of colour we can watch. Oh wait.”

High Fidelity, a gender-switched adaptation of the best-selling novel by Nick Hornby, had received positive reviews for its first run of episodes.

It starred Kravitz as a music-obsessed record store owner Rob. She also served as an executive producer on the show.

Kravitz is currently set to star as Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman) alongside Robert Pattinson in the forthcoming DC comics film, The Batman.
