Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign will work out of 1 Pierrepont Plaza in the Brooklyn Heights neighbourhood of Brooklyn, according to Politico, which reported Friday that the lease has been signed.

Finding a headquarters for the campaign is a concrete step toward a 2016 run for the White House by Mrs Clinton, who has not formally announced her intentions. She has been lauded as the top Democratic presidential candidate.

Many political pundits responded to the lease by saying they think Mrs Clinton will announce her presidential ambitions soon. And she will have to, as the Federal Elections Commission requires an announcement within 15 days of conducting first campaign activities.

The campaign headquarters will take up two full floors of the office building and will not be renovating the space, Politico reported.

The 700,000-square-foot building is marketed as a modern and cool way to escape Midtown Manhattan prices, according to its website. The building is close to 12 subway lines and the Long Island Railroad.
