Trump insists he ‘knows nothing’ about ‘the girls’ mentioned in Epstein’s emails in new comments: Recap
‘I know nothing about that. They would have announced that a long time ago,’ Trump said on Air Force One about the recently released emails from Epstein’s estate
President Donald Trump told reporters Friday night he “knows nothing” about the recently released emails from the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s estate.
Many of the emails mention Trump, who was friends with the disgraced financier decades ago, including one in which Epstein claimed the president “knew about the girls.”
Also Friday, Attorney General Pam Bondi assigned a prosecutor to lead the investigation into prominent Democrats’ ties to Epstein after Trump directed her to launch the probe.
“I will be asking A.G. Pam Bondi, and the Department of Justice, together with our great patriots at the FBI, to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions, to determine what was going on with them, and him,” the president wrote on Truth Social.
The president has repeatedly said the Epstein emails were meant to “deflect” from the end of the government shutdown. He’s also dubbed the controversy on the release of files related to the sex offender a “hoax.”
As well as Trump, the emails mention Bill Clinton, author Michael Wolff, and others. None of the men has been accused of wrongdoing.

Epstein's ex-girlfriend calls White House meeting with Lauren Boebert 'cruel and damaging'
Stacey Williams, a former model and ex-girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein, has called a meeting Rep. Lauren Boebert had at the White House, reportedly about her support for the release of files related to the late convicted sex offender, “cruel and damaging” to the survivors of his crimes.
“ I was quite shocked to hear the White House say yesterday that they're being fully transparent after dragging a member of Congress there to get her to pull back her vote on releasing the Epstein files,” Williams told CNN Thursday night. “It's condescending to the American people, and it is cruel and damaging to the Epstein survivors.”
Top Trump administration officials met in the White House Situation Room earlier Wednesday with Boebert, a Colorado Republican who signed a discharge petition to force a House vote on the Epstein files’ release amid a pressure campaign from President Donald Trump, The New York Times reported.
Boebert told Colorado Public Radio, “There was no pressure and I mean, everybody was great.”
Trump breaks Truth Social silence by promoting two books by Fox News contributors
President Donald Trump has broken his Truth Social silence by promoting two books written by Fox News contributors.
After not posting on Truth Social for more than a day, Trump made two posts Thursday night hawking Nicole Parker’s new book, The Two FBIs: The Bravery and Betrayal I Saw in My Time at the Bureau, and George “Tyrus” Murdoch’s new book, What It Is, America, for which Trump wrote the foreword.

White House bashed The View co-host who spoke out about the Epstein controversy
The White House has bashed The View co-host Ana Navarro, who spoke out about the ongoing controversy surrounding the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Earlier Thursday, Navarro said, “I don't know why we're getting sucked up into a political partisan fight about this. This is about right and wrong.”
"We have failed the victims of Jeffrey Epstein," she said. "We as a country, our legal system, our institutions, our leaders, we've failed those victims time and time again."
The Trump administration has been criticized for its handling of government files related to Epstein.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson said, “Like all TDS liberals, Ana only cares about the Epstein files because she thinks she can weaponize it against President Trump.”
TDS appears to mean Trump Derangement Syndrome.
"Liberal outlets are desperately trying to use this Democrat distraction to talk about anything other than Democrats getting utterly defeated by President Trump in the [government] shutdown fight," Jackson added.
Vance flatters Trump and blames Biden for affordability crisis in Fox News interview which avoids any mention of Epstein
Vice President JD Vance in a Fox News interview on Thursday blamed the Biden administration and undocumented immigrants for ongoing issues with the economy, which has struggled with continued inflation and record-low rates of first-time home buyers.
During the sit-down with Sean Hannity, Vance was not asked any questions about the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein scandal plaguing the White House.
Instead, Vance focused on how the U.S. had “inherited this terrible inflation crisis from the Biden administration” and said it would take more time for the full impact of the Trump economic agenda to kick in, comparing the GOP’s moves so far to trees that will slowly begin bearing fruit.
"A lot of young people are saying, 'Housing is way too expensive,’” Vance said. “Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who are taking houses that ought, by right, go to American citizens...We're also getting all of those illegal aliens out of our country and you’re already see it start to pay some dividends.”

Will Trump sign a bill to release the Epstein files?
Even if the House and the Senate pass a bill to force the Justice Department to release all files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, it still has to go through President Donald Trump.
It’s highly unlikely that Trump will sign such a bill given that his administration already has the power to release the files and his opposition to House members’ push to compel the DOJ to release them.
On Wednesday, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “The Democrats are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they’ll do anything at all to deflect on how badly they’ve done on the Shutdown, and so many other subjects. Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap.”
