A heroic Crystal Palace performance downed Manchester City to claim the FA Cup and a first major trophy at Wembley Stadium.

Ebere Eze's first-half goal and Dean Henderson's penalty save proved vital moments for Oliver Glasner's side in a day of destiny for the Eagles.

Pep Guardiola will feel aggrieved after Henderson remained on the pitch, despite a VAR check, with the Eagles goalkeeper touching the ball outside the box and appearing to deny the Norwegian a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Daniel Munoz thought he had doubled Palace's lead in the second half, but Ismaila Sarr was offside after a VAR check.

And Guardiola could only throw on Phil Foden and a debut for Argentine youngster Claudio Echeverri, who was denied by Henderson late on.

Palace survived and held on for the greatest moment in their history.

Follow all the latest reaction and analysis from the FA Cup final below:

Crystal Palace 1-0 Man City

17 mins: Munoz has been one of the signings of the season really. There's just been the general level of performance, but also how much he suits what Glasner tries to do tactically. A brilliant link. And then there's Eze, the man of this FA Cup season so far. What a brilliant instinctive finish.

17 mins: It was all City. Until Palace scored. If part of the rationale for Guardiola's very attacking selection was that City could pin Palace back, it worked, until, when Palace first attacked with speed, City had too little cover. That was when they may have wanted more of a defensive midfield, to try and stop Daniel Munoz from running free or mark Ebere Eze.

GOAL! Oh my word! This is a brilliant goal.

Mateta brings the ball down near halfway and exchanges passes before laying it off into the space for Munoz. He makes it way to the edge of the box and pulls back an inch-perfect cross to Eze, who fires in first-time to give Palace the lead!

Palace are still struggling to get out of their half, with City pressing well and winning the ball very quickly. But they’re getting forward now...

Great defending from Mitchell as he heads away a brilliant cross from the left.

From the corner, Akanji heads onto the top of the net.

SAVE! A decent stop this time from Henderson, as Gvardiol rises highest from the corner but can only direct his header too close to the ‘keeper.

A dominant display from City so far, with Palace managing to finally get out their half but the chance going as Mateta is too isolated.

The Eagles are defending well but they’re already under quite a lot of pressure as Mitchell concedes a corner.

Nothing comes from the corner but City are in possession again straight away, before Henderson misjudges a cross and carries it over the line for a corner.

From the next set-piece, Marmoush drills in a cross but it’s cleared for now.

SAVE! This is great overall.

De Bruyne receives the pass back from Savinho and swings it in first time, with Haaland connecting on the stretch at the back post and forcing a great reaction save from Henderson.

City keeping possession well early on but they haven’t got near the Palace box yet, with Eze doing well to intercept and give Palace some rest.
