Man United vs Arsenal LIVE: Premier League result and final score after Antony and Marcus Rashford goals
Manchester United 3-1 Arsenal: Erik ten Hag’s side were ruthless on the counter-attack as they ended Arsenal’s winning start and extended their own run
Manchester United ended Arsenal’s winning start to the Premier League season in a thrilling clash that saw Antony score on his debut and Marcus Rashford hit a quick-fire double after Bukayo Saka had equalised in the second half.
After a bright start by both teams, Arsenal thought they had struck first as Gabriel Martinelli finished a devastating counter-attack but the goal was ruled out by VAR for an earlier foul on Christian Eriksen.
From there Arsenal took control but the Gunners were torn apart by United on the break, as Rashford set up Antony to steer a first-time finish past Aaron Ramsdale for a debut goal following his €100m move from Ajax.
Arsenal responded after the break with chances through Martin Odegaard and Saka, before the England international fired a deserved equaliser on the hour-mark. It seemed as if Arsenal had the momentum, but they were hit with a counter-punch as Rashford raced away to restore their lead.
It was the latest swing in a thrilling match and with Arsenal pushing forward with more numbers, Rashford scored his second to seal United’s fourth straight win and end Arsenal’s unbeaten start.

Ten Hag reacts to United win
Erik ten Hag speaking to Sky Sports about his side’s 3-1 win over Arsenal: “We are happy and satisfied with the win, also the performance against a really good team - they played really well.
“The spirit from this team, they can deal with setbacks so we did, it is really great and shows your mentality - we have really improved on that.
“We have the right characters and now it is about cooperation, deal with set backs but also improve - we have to stay calm, stay composed and play our game.”
Rashford reacts to Man Utd win over Arsenal
Marcus Rashford has given his reaction to Manchester United’s win over Arsenal. The English forward scored twice and assisted the other for Antony.
He told Sky Sports: “It is always a big game against Arsenal, especially as they have had such a good start to the season. It was a big test for us today. We showed up and stood up to the challenge. We can be proud if ourselves. It is good to get into a rhythm.
“It is tough. They are a good team and know their principles of play and are very good at it. A good possession-based team and offer lots of difficulties with players dropping into pockets and with attacking threats. It is what we expected.
“I thought it was an even game. There were big spaces in the first half we couldn’t exploit. We managed to do that in the second half.
“We have some excellent passers of the ball and as long as we make runs we are going to get the ball. We have to keep going for 90 minutes. There are a couple of times today we got through the press. It is important for us to keep going.”
