7 mins: A confident start from Albion sees them register the game's first attempt. Admittedly it's not a very good one, but Chris Brunt's wayward header from Craig Dawson's centre shows that they can make inroads on this Chelsea back three.
10 mins: I think Phillips has just struck a long-range effort well over the bar but I missed it because Derby versus Nottingham Forest was kicking off (kicking off as opposed to actually kicking-off) on the adjacent screen. To be honest, this Premier League game could do with some of that energy.
14 mins: They've tried their luck down the right, and are now moving the ball down the left, but as of yet, Chelsea cannot find a way beyond this dogged West Brom back-line. Claudio Yacob and Darren Fletcher are anchoring deep in midfield while Dawson, Gareth McAuley and Jonny Evans are throwing themselves in front of any cross into the box.
19 mins: Oooh! Chris Brunt goes close with a curling long-range effort! Moving forward on the counter, the midfielder took aim with a left-footed strike 25-yards from goal but couldn't quite get enough dip on the ball to find the bottom left corner of Thibaut Courtois' goal. Chelsea are having all the possession, but it's Albion who have registered the game's attempts so far.
20 mins: And having nearly opened the scoring in style, Brunt now becomes the first player in Mike Dean's notebook. The Northern Ireland international is cautioned for crudely taking down Diego Costa.
24 mins: 'West Bromwich Albion have slowed the game right down, almost to a walking pace...' reveals BT Sport's commentator just as Victor Moses sprints 40 yards down the touchline to reach a crossfield ball.
26 mins: Albion on the attack again, and this time Rondon goes close! West Brom's front man capitalises on loose play from David Luiz, turns the Chelsea defence inside and then out before dragging a shot just wide of the far post. The warning signs are there for Antonio Conte's men.
28 mins: Now it's Chelsea's turn to almost seize the opener. However, this would have been more through luck than judgement. N'Golo Kante lined one up from distance, and when his hopeful shot clattered into Pedro, the ball nearly crept in beyond a deceived Ben Foster.
30 mins: Gareth McAuley is the second Albion player to receive a yellow card. The veteran defender hacks down Eden Hazard, and it's a sliding challenge that has left the Belgian in some discomfort. The unhappy Chelsea man limps off to receive further treatment.
He eventually hobbles back on and is fine to continue.
