New Ashley Cole?

Arsene Wenger thinks so. The Arsenal boss has backed new signing, 20-year-old Cohen Bramall, to follow in the footsteps of Cole - perhaps without the move to Chelsea, however.

He said: “He’s an exceptional physical talent. I don’t think he’s ready, today, to play in Premier League but he has similarities to a young Ashley Cole.”

The one we've all been waiting for...

Derby sign Middlesbrough midfielder Julien de Sart on loan to the end of the season.

Speaking about the signing, manager Steve McClaren said: “We’re pleased to welcome Julien to Derby County.

“He is a talented player with plenty of potential and, having made the move from Belgium, he has been in English football for almost a year now. I’m looking forward to working with him.”

De Sart came through the youth ranks in his homeland at Standard Liege and made 75 appearances for the Belgian side between August 2013 and February 2016, during which time he also gained Europa League experience.

More on the 'new Ashley Cole'

He may have been plucked from non-league obscurity, but Arsene Wenger thinks Arsenal's new boy can be one of the very best.

Cohen Bramall completed his switch to the Emirates from Hednesford Town on Thursday morning for a fee of £40,000 and Wenger has backed the left-back to establish himself in the Premier League, comparing him to former Arsenal star Ashley Cole.

"He's an exceptional physical talent," the Frenchman told beIN Sports. "I don't think he's ready, today, to play in the Premier League but he has similarities to a young Ashley Cole." Read more here.
