US Open 2023 LIVE: Andy Murray falls to Grigor Dimitrov as Katie Boulter and Jack Draper win
Andy Murray slumps to straight-sets defeat against Grigor Dimitrov on Arthur Ashe Stadium in the second round
Andy Murray bowed out of the US Open after a dispiriting defeat to his old rival Grigor Dimitrov.
In the 12th meeting between two veterans of the sport, and seven years after their last one, 19th seed Dimitrov registered only his fourth win over the Scot.
Murray wilted inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium, the court upon which he won his first grand slam title in 2012, as he slipped to a 6-3 6-4 6-1 defeat.
Elsewhere, there are five other Brits in second-round singles action, with Katie Boulter and Jack Draper reaching the third round after early-match wins against Yafan Wang and 17th seed Hubert Hurkacz respectively, while Cameron Norrie and Dan Evans are all playing later in the day in New York. Jodie Burrage lost in straight-sets to world No 2 Aryna Sabalenka.
