OUR REVIEW
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
The hotel is located in midtown Manhattan, near numerous subway lines and the high-end retail of Fifth Avenue (such as Bergdorf Goodman, Tiffany, Cartier and Saks Fifth Avenue). Central Park is just a block away, and the Rockefeller Center, Trump Tower, Radio City Music Hall and The Museum of Modern Art are all nearby too. It's a 10 to 15-minute walk to Times Square and the Theater District. Highly-rated steakhouse Quality Meats is just over the road, and Red Cork Wine Bar is a good spot for a drink.
By plane: flights to New York take 6 hours 50 mins from London and Edinburgh, and 7 hours 10 mins from Manchester. The hotel is a 40-minute taxi ride from JFK airport. Private parking costs $75 per day. Book flights to New York.
THE LOOK AND FEEL
This is a sleekly designed hotel, with outstanding eco-friendly credentials. There's wide use of reclaimed materials, especially wood. The lift is lined with tree bark, room keys are wooden, and 24,000 plants are located throughout the hotel - indeed the exterior is covered in greenery. Leather seating, stone floors and brick walls all create a pleasingly earthy yet contemporary interior design.
THE FACILITIES
As well as an all-day restaurant and bar, there's a 24-hour fitness centre, complimentary fitness classes, and business and lounge areas. Valet parking is free for electric vehicles, and an electric vehicle is available for trips within a 15-block radius.

There are live plants to add to the feeling of being with nature, and an industrial feel too, with metal lamps and concrete basins. Around a quarter of the rooms have window seats with a view of Central Park.
