It's a 10 to 15-minute walk to Times Square and the Theater District. Highly-rated steakhouse Quality Meats is just over the road, and Red Cork Wine Bar is a good spot for a drink.

This is a sleekly designed hotel, with outstanding eco-friendly credentials. There's wide use of reclaimed materials, especially wood. The lift is lined with tree bark, room keys are wooden, and 24,000 plants are located throughout the hotel - indeed the exterior is covered in greenery. Leather seating, stone floors and brick walls all create a pleasingly earthy yet contemporary interior design.

As well as an all-day restaurant and bar, there's a 24-hour fitness centre, complimentary fitness classes, and business and lounge areas. Valet parking is free for electric vehicles, and an electric vehicle is available for trips within a 15-block radius.
