THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
The hotel is located in the Midtown East business district, between residential neighbourhood Sutton Place and Times Square. Although the nightlife is rather subdued, it's near the Museum of Modern Art, the Rockefeller Center, the theatre district, Radio City Hall, Fifth Avenue shops and other top tourist attractions.
By plane: flights from London, Manchester or Edinburgh to New York take 7 hours. A taxi will take 40 minutes from JFK airport. Parking costs $75 per day. Book flights to New York.
THE LOOK AND FEEL
Originating from 1927 and designed by renowned architect Emery Roth, The Benjamin stands out from nearby buildings with its Beaux-Arts elegance. With 29 floors, it is a fine example of one of New York's early skyscrapers. The lobby boasts high ceilings, columns, marble floors, large mirrors, atmospheric dim lighting and use of limestone and wood to create a warm and rather exclusive feel.

The restaurant and bar are currently closed, but the hotel has 24-hour business and fitness centres, a hair and nail salon, room and laundry services and valet parking. Service here is friendly and efficient.
