Every week we invite competing companies to give us their best deal for a specific holiday. Today: a week on a Greek island in mid-September. Prices are for two people travelling together and include seven nights' accommodation.

Ionian & Aegean Island Holidays

£1,182: Alexanna Apartments, Kefalonia

Includes flights departing Gatwick or Manchester on 11 September, a week's car hire and self-catering accommodation at the Alexanna Apartments, just outside Fiskardo, plus a welcome hamper. "These are perfectly located apartments offering exquisite views on one side of the dense pine forest and on the other sensational sea views towards Ithaka. They're in a peaceful setting and are a great base for exploring the island. The famous Mytros Beach is only a 20-minute drive away, but this is also a perfect holiday for those who like more activity than just relaxing on a beach," says Bernadette Askouni at Ionian & Aegean Island Holidays (020-8459 0777; ionianislandholidays.com).

The Co-operative Travel

£598: Argo Studios, Corfu

Includes flights departing Manchester on 20 September, transfers and self-catering accommodation at the Argo Studios in Benitses. "Benitses is a quieter resort that's ideal for families and couples. You can be sure of a warm welcome at the friendly Argo studios," says Patrick McDonagh of The Co-operative Travel (0844 335 6439; co-operativetravelholidays.co.uk).

Olympic Holidays

£1,698: Annabelle Village Hotel, Crete

Includes flights departing Manchester on 14 September, transfers and half board accommodation at the Annabelle Village Hotel in Hersonissos. "The hotel has its own section of sandy beach, which has been awarded a European Blue Flag, and is built in Aegean bungalow style within extensive landscaped grounds and beautiful gardens," says George Yianni at Olympic Holidays (0844 576 2386; olympicholidays.com).
