Burnley came up short in defeat by Newcastle as their five-year spell in the top flight came to an end
Burnley were relegated from the Premier League after a 2-1 home defeat by Newcastle United on the final day of the season on Sunday that sent them down to the second division for the first time since 2015.
Leeds United, who were in the drop zone on goal difference heading into the last round of fixtures, remain in the top flight after a 2-1 win at Brentford ensured they finished above Burnley in 17th place.

Reports coming from the Community Stadium that Raphinha is walking the length of the pitch, falling to his knees at the halfway line.

Wilson’s two goals have sunk their ambitions of staying in the top flight as Leeds held out for a draw against Brentford.
There were close calls for Burnley in the closing minutes, knowing they had to score to be in a chance after pulling one back from Cornet.
But Leeds’ penalty, scored by Raphinha, and a late Harrison goal has been enough to keep the side up, despite conceding a late Canos goal.
