OVERVIEW

The neon lights of the Nirvana and Oasis Towers light Playa Paraíso up at night. It makes this southwest Tenerife resort resemble Las Vegas, where the first Hard Rock Hotel opened, more than the Canary Islands. There are rock museum-like displays such as the flamboyant custom-made jacket worn by Sly Stone.

OUR REVIEW

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Playa Paraíso was the Tenerife resort outshone by neighbours such as Costa Adeje and Playa Las Américas until the opening of the Hard Rock Hotel in 2016. It can be reached along the TF-1 within 30 minutes from Tenerife South Airport and in just over an hour from Tenerife North Airport. Graze on Italian cold cuts and Canarian cheeses accompanied with palm honey and pepper jam at Roca Negra Sunset Club.

By plane: flights from London, Birmingham and Manchester to Tenerife take around 4 hours 30 mins. The hotel is a 2o minute drive from Tenerife South airport. Private parking for €12 a day. Book flights to Tenerife.

THE LOOK AND FEEL

There's no mistaking the rock and roll vibe as soon as you enter the lobby at Hard Rock Hotel Tenerife; you can hear it pumping through the speakers. Built on the grounds of a pre-existing hotel, the €70-million renovation saw a jump from a three-star establishment to a five-star.

THE FACILITIES

You are pampered like rock royalty here; there's even 24-hour room service to replicate a rider being met. As well as four on-site pools, there's direct access to a dark-sand beach. Guests can borrow Fender guitars and amplifiers which makes the hotel appear like a lending library.
