The Platinum Party of the Palace has begun with a surprise pre-recorded sketch featuring the Queen and Paddington bear.

Kicking off the performances is Queen + Adam Lambert with a rousing renditon of “We Will Rock You” - with the Queen joining in via teacup.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will miss the BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace concert on Saturday evening, as they celebrate their daughter Lilibet’s first birthday “privately” in Windsor.

Other royal family members are attendance of the star-studded performance include the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Earl and Countess of Wessex and their children, Lady Louise Windsor and Viscount Severn, the Princess Royal, and others will also be there.

Amongst this weekend’s celebrations, the Queen did not attend the Epsom Derby today after also missing the platinum jubilee thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that her Majesty watched the major sporting event on television at Windsor Castle, after experiencing “discomfort” following a busy first day of festivities on Thursday.

Prince Edward and Sophie of Wessex’s plane makes surprise U-turn following technical issue

A British Airways (BA) plane heading towards Gibraltar with the Earl and Countess of Wessex on board has made a surprise U-turn back to Heathrow Airport due to a “minor technical issue”.

Prince Edward and Sophie of Wessex were on their way to the British overseas territory when their pilots decided to turn around to fix the problem.

Royal Family Twitter account changes its image to ‘magnificent seven'

The royal family’s Twitter account has changed both its profile and banner image following the platinum jubilee weekend.

The new profile image shows the Queen smiling while in a powder blue outfit she wore for the Trooping the Colour parade on Thursday.

The new banner image shows the “magnificent seven” — the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, alongside the Queen.

They were the only people to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony on the last day of the jubilee, and the Queen was flanked by her three heirs.

Nanny Jo Frost praises Kate Middleton’s parenting skills during jubilee celebration

Supernanny and parenting expert Jo Frost has applauded the Duchess of Cambridge, after Prince Louis was seen sticking his tongue out and making faces at his mother during the Queen’s jubilee celebrations.

Cameras captured Prince Louis jumping in his seat and placing his hand over Kate Middleton’s mouth when she tried to speak to him at the Platinum Jubilee Pageant on Sunday.

As the footage quickly went viral, Frost chimed in to say that she admired how Middleton handled her son’s behaviour.

“Love how mum is addressing in public Prince Louis needing to listen up and do as his told,” she wrote on Instagram.

Prince Louis bickers over candy in funny pageant moment

Prince Louis has gone viral once again after a video captured the four-year-old bickering over a bag of sweets with his second cousins and older sister, Princess Charlotte.

In the 38-second video, the young royals are seen laughing and fighting over the candies during the platinum pageant.

Lena Tindall, three,  pulled out the treats and offered one to Princess Charlotte, seven, who was seated in the front row. Prince Louis was out of luck when Lena skipped over him and offered a piece of candy to Prince George, eight, instead.
