And, now that face masks have become a part of daily life, we’re keeping a close eye on the stylish ones A-listers are wearing while out and about.
The supermodel was recently spotted walking around New York wearing a silk mask that has skyrocketed in popularity after being worn by several other famous faces, including Adele, who wore hers during her appearance on Saturday Night Live, and Priyanka Chopra, who wore hers while walking her dog in Germany.
The mask in question is the Discover Night silk face mask, which is made from 100 per cent mulberry silk and comes in seven shades, from blush pink to champagne.
But, there’s more to this celebrity-approved face mask than just good looks. According to Dr Adil Sheraz, consultant dermatologist and British skin foundation spokesperson, face masks made from silk can actually be beneficial to our skin.
When choosing your face covering, he suggests investing in one made from a fabric that’s soft enough to sit on your skin without any discomfort because, the more uncomfortable you are, the more likely it is you will touch your face or fiddle with it.
“The act of constantly adjusting and touching the mask and thus touching your face will transfer oil, dirt and irritants to the skin,” he says.

To minimise all of this, he recommends a custom-fitted mask, but if that's not possible, stick to breathable material such as silk, or silk-lined masks.
He goes on to say: “A silk mask with multiple layers would be ideal for sensitive, acne-prone skin”.
