Computers: Love Letters
I ENJOY your page very much, particularly the articles which prove that I am not the only person to feel inferior to her computer. It is a pleasure to read articles written for the average person in plain English. The enclosed poem points out one area where computers fall short of more traditional methods.
I am sending this letter by 'smail mail'
Regardless of how long it takes There are relays of snails across country Rushing ventre a terre in their haste.
I know that it's quicker by E-mail
Fast replies are part of its art
But a fax or a computer print-out
Can't be carried, warm next to my heart.
I don't want love filtered by modem
I don't want love spread on a screen
I want to receive it on paper
Pressed warm where your hand has been.
