Birmingham Bullring announces rules for Boxing Day shopping
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, shoppers in Birmingham have been urged to follow strict social distancing measures and to wear masks in all stores. Bargain hunters have been known to queue outside the Bullring as early as 3am in previous events. This year, shoppers are being told to bide by one-way systems and regularly sanitise their hands.
Meanwhile, stores are varying in opening times with a spokesperson for the Bullring and Grand Central commenting that "safety continues to be our number one priority and we have introduced a range of measures, including one-way systems, fixed hand sanitiser stations and clear signage to remind customers of social distancing and the need to wear a face covering."

With 500 cards, the game works by someone holding a card up (the judge) so that only they can see the answer, but everyone else sees an incoherent phrase. Shoppers in the North of England queuing from 4am for Boxing Day sales
Though tier 4 coronavirus restrictions prevent many of those across the UK from hitting the shops this year, some Britons were seen queueing up outside stores including Next from 4am on Saturday morning in Liverpool, Birmingham, Leicester and North Tyneside.
Meanwhile, millions of those in places including Sussex, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire moved into tier 4 restrictions from midnight on Boxing Day, meaning 43 per cent of England’s population are under the toughest lockdown restrictions.
