Robot vacuum cleaner's don't come cheap, but Aldi's newest launch of its own version is a bargain not to miss out on

While we love our homes to look sparkling clean at all times, we have to admit, hoovering is perhaps the dullest task. It's only just pipped to the number one spot by taking the bins out.

And if like us, you may have seriously considered splashing out on a robot vacuum, that you simply switch on and let it get to work while you stretch out on the sofa.

With features like voice control and room mapping, they can be incredible time-savers that get the job done just as well as a traditional vacuum cleaner.

Many are dual function too, which can vacuum and mop, reaching every corner of your home to suck up pet hair, dust and everything else in between.

But – and a big but – thy don’t come cheap. Brands like Dyson, Roomba and Eufy can set you back upwards of £400 and prices can go over £1,000.

If your budget doesn’t stretch that high, thankfully Aldi has just launched its own version.

The budget supermarket has released the easy home robotic vacuum cleaner for £129.99, as part of its Special Buy range.

Claiming to make cleaning “fuss-free”, you can programme it to work automatically or with a remote control to ensure it reaches those hard to access areas like underneath sofas and in awkward corners.

Kitted out with anti-collision and anti-fall sensors, you can have peace of mind too, that it won’t come crashing down the stairs.

It has four cleaning modes, a running time of 90 minutes, is self-charging and comes with a dust box, two side brushes, one central brush and a charging base.

As an online exclusive, we’d recommend snapping this up before it sells out, as it’s a budget-friendly option to getting on board with a robot vacuum, minus an eye-wateringly high price tag.

Ahead, we’ve also handpicked three other models that cost under the £200 mark that you can buy now.

Proscenic 820s robot vacuum cleaner: £199, Amazon – Buy now

In our round-up of the best robot vacuum cleaners, we were impressed with this Proscenic 820s robot vacuum cleaner (Amazon, £199), which provided a full 100 minutes of cleaning on a full charge.

It comes with a remote control, but it also syncs up with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or using the Proscenic app, which our reviewer found a little more fiddly to set up than others we tried.

Simple to use and easy to set up, this suction tool can link up with your devices so you can programme it to start without touching it (Amazon)

"With a large capacity, 600ml dustbin, one of the best features of this robot is that you won’t have to empty the bin after every clean.

"We were also impressed that it automatically adjusted suction power depending on the surface it was cleaning.

"This is a good everyday vacuum cleaner at a very affordable price," said our tester.

It navigates small and large areas quickly and is a great choice for sucking up debris on hard floors, just make sure the area if clear of obstacles otherwise it can get stuck.

RoboVac 11S: £189.99, Eufy – Buy now

At slightly cheaper, this RoboVac 11S (Eufy, £189.99) is easy on the purse-strings but an efficient model to shop.

Simply switch on and let it get to work, and you can even set a cleaning schedule for it to navigate round your home

It's slim enough to slither underneath low-hanging furniture such as armchairs and has a running time of up to 100 minutes.

It's rotating side brushes come in hand to loosen, extract and suck up dirt to leave surfaces as good as new too.

Coredy R500+: £199.99, Amazon – Buy now

Another worthwhile purchase is this Coredy R500+ (Amazon, £199.99) that's a three-in-one robot that can vacuum, sweep and mop floors, with the mopping attachment sold separately.

This hand-free, cordless machine means you can get on with your other chores while it does its thing (Amazon)

According to our reviewers, we found this was able to manoeuvre under most household furniture, removing dust from normally hard to access areas.

It is a random navigation tool, so you can't map areas for it to clean, but it gave a satisfyingly clean result.
