The resort is located amongst olive and citrus gardens on the northeastern coastline of Crete, around an hour's drive from Heraklion Airport. The pleasant port town of Agios Nikolaos and Elounda fishing village are nearby, with boutiques, restaurants and bars.

There are very pleasant elements such as flagstone or terracotta floors, uplifting white walls and walls of exposed stone and some antique furniture, but in places the décor and background music is dated. Lobby areas have a mixture of both traditional and more contemporary armchairs.
A host of facilities includes five restaurants, two bars, a private Blue Flag beach, three pools, an impressive spa, kids' and teens' clubs, a small art gallery and a high-spec gym.
