Foodie Faves Case

This expertly curated case has some of the best wines to pair with food. Each of the six bottles - three reds and three whites - case works well with a range of dishes. Siobhan Grogan says: “From fruity, lip-smacking whites to rich, juicy reds, all you need to do is get cooking, open a bottle and enjoy. No sommelier required.”

Three reds and three whites that showcase all corners of our wonderful wine world with a range of refreshing crisp whites to accompany your buttery white fish dishes or a blanc for a herby roast chicken that is aromatic and citrusy. With the reds, we’ve got something mellow and smooth, ideal for summer garden lunches and then also something decadent and rich to add that final touch to a dark chocolate pud.

Connoisseur’s Pick - 'John's Choices'

Independent Wine Critic, John Clarke, has selected six of his favourite Independent Wine Club wines to create this connoisseur’s box. John says: "Writing to a friend, Benjamin Franklin, the 18th-century American author, scientist and politician remarked: “There are three white wines and three reds which I hope cover the spectrum from a wine to enjoy on its own as a refreshing aperitif to one that would grace any lunch or dinner table."

The case he has put together takes us all over the vinous world and showcases the range and diversity of flavours, winemaking, palates and aromas - there is something here for any occasion and each one is as impressive as the next.

Whether a German grape nurtured in New Zealand to create a bright and sumptuous white or a spicy yet silky red from Spain, these six varieties of wine will get your personal cellar well stocked with something for everyone.

South of the Equator Case

These six wines that take you out of Europe and into the sunny southern hemisphere by sampling your way around its bountiful vineyards. Each of the bottles has been specially selected to showcase a unique element that come together in a case to paint the entire picture of why we love new world wine

The Independent writers say: "Generally speaking, these wines come from hotter climates and as a result are more full-bodied than their European counterparts with higher alcoholic content – although there are exceptions, as we shall see. And with a market that’s forever expanding, there are new wines to discover, new blends to admire and new techniques to admire."

For red you have a plump Marlborough Pinot Noir, a bottle of peppery and rich Carmenere from the volcanic soils of the Andes, and a Shiraz bursting with the jammy dark fruit flavours of South Australia. Representing South Africa, we have a Sauvignon Blanc from the Cape that is explosive with rich tropical fruit flavour. We've included a Torrontes from Mendoza in Argentina which is refreshing and light and dances across your palate with flavours of rose, and a Chardonnay from Chile that is rich and creamy yet alive with a vein of acidity.
