Horse racing tips today:

For today's horse racing tips, our analyst James Boyle looks at the flat racing meeting at Newcastle with three selections now online.

As always, you’ll find up-to-date odds at the bookmakers, but our tipster’s predictions are researched early in the day and those prices could soon be moved in by the betting public.

Odds stated are correct at the time of publishing, but check out today's racecards for all the latest movements.

14:50 Newcastle – It Just Takes Time – 2pts @ 16/1

It Just Takes Time comes from a yard who wouldn’t be known for having many All-Weather winners but he won here when trained by Nigel Tinkler and shaped well over C&D recently. He finished behind some of these but there are reasons to believe he was better than the bare form.

Due to his draw and where the speed was coming from, he had to sit further back in the field than usual to get cover and then made his ground up nearer the far side rail, which is rarely ever the place to be. I thought he did well to get within two-lengths of the winner as a result.

He’s again drawn low but it’s a smaller field and the main speed is positioned close by. That should help and if he can get into a nice rhythm without going as far back, it’s possible he can trouble all of these. A 2lb drop in the weights is another help and I think quotes around the 16/1 mark are big.

 15:25 Newcastle – Perfect Swiss – 1pt @ 15/2

Perfect Swiss is rated below each of his last four winning marks and ran a race of promise over C&D recently. He may not have been fully fit on the back of a few months away from the track and didn’t get the strongest of gallops to run into, but still finished quickly enough to be of interest.

This is a slightly lower band of handicap, he’s bound to be fitter for that last run and his outings in July and August were also suggesting he would find a race coming his way soon. This is competitive but looks like a good opportunity if the splits come at the right time. 7/1 or close to it is fair.

15:55 Newcastle – She’s The Danger – 1pt @ 7/1

She’s The Danger has already been supported in the market but I think she has a big chance of getting involved in this. Her last run wasn’t great but did come on the back of a break and she pulled too hard to be effective at the mile trip, one she needs a lot in her favour in order to stay it.

Coming back to 7f is going to help her cause and she’s 2lbs lower in the weights compared to her second at Doncaster in July. The winner of that is 15lbs higher these days and a similar level of performance would make her difficult to beat in this. Her draw should be a good one as well.
