Mother uses diaper changes to teach toddler “consent while parenting”

A mother has gone viral on TikTok for teaching her son about consent while changing his diaper. In the video, Alissa - a 32-year-old elementary school teacher from Chicago - can be seen explaining to him that she is removing the dirty nappy, before replacing it with a new one and putting his pyjamas on. “The goal is to make him feel involved and not like a passive observer having his body manipulated. I want to be building the foundation for his body autonomy and consensual interactions later in his life,” Alissa writes.
