Oliver Ripley of sustainable hotel group Habitas talks about how AlUla challenged his preconceptions of Saudi Arabia

Oliver Ripley describes his unlikely journey from building a camp each year Burning Man to creating the Habitas AlUla resort, in the process overcoming his own preconceptions and those of his co-founders.

“For me, I’d built a Burning Man camp every year for nine years. It was really a passion to bring people together, to bring your friends from all over the world and share those days inthe wilderness. And that’s how it started to form, this incredible community of like-minded people, diverse people doing incredible things in the world coming together to share this moment”.
