House of The Dragon: Casting of Babardian actor as head of Valyrian family met with backlash

The casting of a Babardian actor as the head of the Valyrian family in Game of Throne’s spin-off, House of The Dragon, has been met with some backlash online.

Steve Toussaint was selected to portray Corlys Velaryon, who was written as a middle-aged white man in the George RR Martin books the show is based on.

This FOX 26 Houston clip shows activist Quanell X and lawyer Charles Adams debating the issue, with both men describing the social media backlash as having connections to racism.
