Court hears audio of 999 call following MP David Amess’ fatal stabbing

The jury of Sir David Amess’ murder trial has heard the chilling audio of the 999 call made by a terrified woman.

Ali Harbi Ali, 26, is on trial at the Old Bailey for the fatal stabbing of the Essex MP, and has pleaded not guilty.

Today, the court heard Yvonne Eaves’ emergency phone call, where she says: “Please, please, quick. Now the man is wielding a knife, he’s threatened me... He’s killed David Amess at Belfairs Methodist Church.”
