Joe Biden pays tribute to service of fallen officers

President Joe Biden on Saturday (16 October) paid tribute to those who have lost their lives in the name of law enforcement, as he evoked the Capitol riots of nine months previous as an example of how crucial their role can be.

The president was speaking at the 40th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service to remember the 491 law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty in 2019 and 2020.
