Road rage driver shot with flare gun after attacking fellow motorist with baseball bat

This is the shocking moment a road rage driver was shot with a flare gun after attacking another motorist with a baseball bat in Florida.

Leonard Cako, 47, was captured on a cell phone video hitting a vehicle with an aluminum bat in the town of Ruskin on March 6th, 2025.

From inside the vehicle, the other driver fired a flare gun at Cako to make him retreat.

Cako was identified as the primary aggressor and now faces a number of charges including aggravated assault of a victim over 65.

"This is another example of how quickly road rage can escalate. There's no excuse for a driver to get out of their car and assault and threaten another driver," said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister.

"I'm glad we were able to make sure this suspect will suffer the consequences of his actions."
