Watch live as Irish foreign minister speaks about Brexit protocol

Ireland foreign minister Simon Coveney is speaking at a virtual Irish conference on the Northern Ireland protocol during a week in which Britain and the EU said they will intensify efforts to break their impasse over post-Brexit trade arrangements for the country.

Coveney has recently said the “less talk” of triggering Article 16, the better as talk rumbles on that the UK will invoke the mechanism that will suspend customs and food safety checks on goods entering Northern Ireland.
