Ofcom issues Lorraine warning after Dr Hilary's false Covid hospitalisations claim
Lorraine has been issued a warning from Ofcom after Dr Hilary’s controversial Covid comments sparked 3,833 viewer complaints.
The health professional incorrectly claimed last month that “90 per cent of hospitalised Covid patients were unvaccinated”..
In reality, 90 per cent of patients receiving the most specialised care were unvaccinated, a figure Lorraine later clarified on the ITV show.
Despite the correction, Dr Hilary’s remark sparked thousands of complaints and the show has been told that “greater care” must be taken when experts are presenting “facts and figures on public health issues”.
