Bizarre CCTV shows man climbing through Sainsbury’s ceiling to steal crisps
This CCTV shows a crisp thief climbing through the ceiling of a Sainsbury’s Local in Radford.
The man, who also attempted to steal £200 of scratchcards, was foiled by quick-responding police. Staff called 999 after spotting legs dangling from a ceiling hole on February 21st.
Footage captured the intruder stealing around £200 worth of scratchcards, along with other items, before escaping through a fire exit.
Officers arrived within six minutes and apprehended a 50-year-old man nearby, arresting him on suspicion of burglary.
Inspector Liz Gaskin praised the officers’ swift action, reassuring staff and emphasizing the police’s commitment to protecting local businesses.
