WHO slams ‘shocking disparity’ in access to Covid-19 vaccines

The World Health Organization has slammed the “shocking disparity” in access to Covid-19 vaccines around the world.

“The vaccine crisis illustrates the fundamental weakness at the root of the pandemic: the lack of global solidarity and sharing,” WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom said.

“Sharing of information and data, biological samples, resources, technology and tools.”

Dr Tedros hit out at the disparity during a press conference in the Republic of the Congo, after it was announced that only four countries in Africa have been able to meet their Covid-19 inoculation targets so far.
