Eric Dane honoured in heartfelt tribute by fellow Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey

Patrick Dempsey paid tribute to his former Grey’s Anatomy co-star Eric Dane, remembering him as the “funniest man” following his death at the age of 53.

On Thursday (19 February), the actor best known for his role as Dr Mark Sloan on the ABC medical drama, died following a battle with ALS - a degenerative nervous system disease.

Appearing on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show, Dempsey revealed that he had last spoke to a bedridden Dane about a week ago when he was “really starting to lose his speech”.

“The quality of his life was deteriorating so rapidly,” he explained.

Dempsey described Dane as “wickedly funny” man who was a “joy to work with”. He added: ” I just want to just remember him in that spirit.”
