BBC rom-com 'Starstruck' falls flat, says Independent critic

Binge or Bin host Annabel Nugent says Rose Matafeo’s new BBC comedy Starstruck “wasn’t everything I hoped it would be”.

The show is a “gender reverse Notting Hill” set in London, following the protagonist Jessie as she “hooks up with a mega-star”.

Annabel’s expectations for a recent BBC show are for “something that pushes boundaries and is new and fresh”, she laments that Starstruck “didn’t exactly do that”.
